The mission of EDCARE is to provide programs that address the underserved communities', economic, emotional, health care, and spiritual needs by providing education, vocational training, and counseling.

Our Foundation
Serving the community since 1997
EDCare is a Non-Profit Corporation founded in 1997 by Dr. Ernesdyne T. Dave Burnett. Dr. Dave Burnett has continued as the corporation's CEO & President for over 25 years.
Our Programs

Project M.O.M
Project M.O.M- Or Mother On the Move is a program to provide training in low and medium technology job skills for mothers of children receiving aid to dependent children. Child care and on-the-job counseling, as well as, job placement are included for participants.

S.T.A.R.S
Students Teaming to Achieve
Respect and Successes

A program for students ages 11 to 19 which strives to: (1) improve academic standards, (2) provide scholarships, (3) foster community service, and develop positive character traits.

Parent Connection
P.C
A program for parents to address the issues which surround raising children with special needs: academically, emotionally, socially, and/or physically. Foster parents, who are rearing a second generation of children, are our targeted group.

Faithful Fathers - FF
A program of crisis intervention, parenting, substance abuse and academic training for fathers from ages 16 to 28. Dads are encouraged to collectively plan and participate in activities with their children
EDCARE
Academy
&
Adult Learning Center
This is an educational program for ages kindergarten to adult. Classes and training are offered in the evenings and on weekends. Subjects include: college readiness skills, science, mathematics, music, drama, art, computer science, ESL, reading and literature.

Students are taught the importance of physical fitness, preventative heath care and nutrition.
​
Emphasis is on a lifelong learning, educational excellence and transitioning into the work force.
